The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced the final closure of its online registration portal for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise for UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates.
According to the University, the registration deadline, which was previously extended to July 31, 2026, has now been further extended. The screening registration portal will officially close on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The extension provides eligible candidates who are yet to complete their screening registration with one final opportunity to do so before the portal closes.
Eligibility
The screening exercise is open to prospective candidates who:
- Chose Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) as their First Choice Institution.
- Scored a minimum of 180 in the 2026 UTME conducted by JAMB.
- Are eligible Direct Entry (DE) candidates who selected FUTA as their First Choice Institution.
- Meet the University's other admission requirements.
Candidates who fall into these categories and are yet to complete their screening registration are strongly advised to do so on or before Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Important O'Level Result Requirement
FUTA has also directed candidates to ensure that their O'Level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS on or before Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Candidates who fail to upload their O'Level results by the stated deadline may be rendered ineligible for admission.
Applicants are therefore advised to verify their JAMB CAPS profile and ensure that their O'Level information has been correctly uploaded before the deadline.
Age Requirement
The University also stated that candidates must have attained the age of 16 years on or before September 30, 2026, to be considered for admission for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Candidates who have not reached the required age by the stated date may not be considered for admission.
Important Notice to Candidates
FUTA has advised all eligible candidates who are yet to complete their screening registration to take advantage of the remaining time and complete the process promptly.
Candidates should not wait until the final hours of the deadline, as possible traffic or technical issues on the registration portal could affect the completion of their application.
It is important to note that candidates who are not screened will not be considered for admission into the University for the 2026/2027 academic session.
All applicants are therefore encouraged to complete their registration and ensure that their O'Level results are properly uploaded to JAMB CAPS before the portal closes on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Candidates are advised to complete their screening registration before the deadline to avoid missing out on the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
