Northwest University, Kano Releases 2026/2027 UTME/DE Screening Registration and Cut-Off Marks

This is to inform all candidates who have chosen Northwest University, Kano as first choice in the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry (D.E) admissions exercise, that all applicants for admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) are hereby requested to register online for the Screening Exercise via the University website (www.nwu.edu.ng) from Monday, 10th August 2026 to Sunday, 23rd August 2026.
Eligibility
Candidates must have:
- Chosen Northwest University, Kano as first choice
- Obtained a minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in SSCE (or equivalent) in not more than two sittings, for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates
- Scored a minimum tolerable points for the programme applied for, as stated below
Direct Entry (DE)
Candidates must have:
- Possess a 2026 Direct Entry (DE) online registration slip
- Have obtained either National Diploma (ND), IJMB, or NCE
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 for science-based and 3.5 for art-based programmes
- Have a minimum of 9 points in NCE
- Have a minimum of 7 points in science-based and 8 points in art and social science-based IJMB programmes

Registration Guidelines
- Candidates wishing to register for UTME screening or DE screening should visit the University's website (www.nwu.edu.ng) and click on "2026 Admission Portal."
- Candidates should then generate a NABROLL payment invoice from the portal and make payment online or proceed to any Bank Nationwide to pay the sum of Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000) only, as the screening charge.
- Candidates should return to the portal to complete registration and print an acknowledgement slip, to be presented together with other credentials during the aptitude test or Direct Entry screening.
Important Notice
- Any candidate who wishes to change their choice of institution or programme using the JAMB Green Card must do so before midnight of 9th August, 2026.
- Candidates must upload their credentials on their JAMB e-Facility.
- Any candidate who fails to register within the stipulated period will not be considered for admission into the University for the 2026/2027 academic session.
- Candidates must make sure they register with the correct grades on their SSCE results. Any disparity will lead to cancellation of the admission at the point of screening.
