New JAMB Registrar Segun Aina Unveils Five-Year "JAMB 2031" Strategic Agenda
New JAMB Registrar Prof. Segun Aina has unveiled a five-year strategic agenda, "JAMB 2031: Building Trust, Reducing Trauma," built around two objectives, five pillars, and seven flagship projects.
The newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Segun Aina, has unveiled a five-year strategic development agenda aimed at transforming the nation's admissions body into Africa's most trusted, innovative, and accessible assessment institution.
JAMB's Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, said in a statement on Monday that Aina unveiled the "JAMB 2031: Building Trust, Reducing Trauma" blueprint on his first day in office to drive the Board's operations over the next five years, covering 2026 to 2031.
The new Registrar said the development plan, which he described as "Project 2:5:7," is anchored on two strategic objectives, five enduring pillars, and seven flagship initiatives aimed at making JAMB a respected and technology-focused examination and admissions organisation.
According to the statement, Aina said the Board would keep its legal duty to provide fair, trustworthy, safe, and equal access to higher education by ensuring clear registration, reliable assessments, and merit-based placement of qualified candidates.
The Five Pillars
- Integrity — Strengthening institutional credibility through internationally recognised standards, including ISO 27001 certification, independent technology reviews, and transparent systems capable of sustaining public confidence.
- Service — Improving customer experience through responsive service delivery, transparent communication, and stronger engagement with candidates, parents, tertiary institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Governance — Enhancing performance monitoring, operational resilience, contract management, and internal accountability to ensure programmes are delivered efficiently.
- Technology — Driving JAMB's digital transformation to modernise examination and admissions infrastructure.
- Partnerships — Building enduring collaborations to support the Board's broader institutional goals.

- Attainment of ISO 27001 Information Security Certification
- Development of a unified JAMB Mobile App
- Strategic communication and brand repositioning
- Establishment of a unified customer service platform

- Enhanced staff welfare and capacity development
Speaking in Abuja as he formally assumed office, Prof. Aina described his appointment as "a homecoming and a solemn responsibility," pledging to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, through innovation, stronger institutional systems, and a renewed commitment to excellent service delivery.
He stressed that while technology would remain at the heart of JAMB's transformation, people would remain its greatest asset, and called on members of staff to embrace innovation, professionalism, and teamwork.
