UNICAL Releases 2026/2027 Direct Entry Application Form

The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has officially released its 2026/2027 Direct Entry (DE) admission application form for qualified candidates.

Direct Entry candidates who selected UNICAL as their first-choice institution in the 2026/2027 JAMB Direct Entry application are eligible to apply. Candidates who did not initially choose UNICAL but wish to study at the university may also apply, provided they effect the necessary change of institution through JAMB.

Requirements

• Must have selected UNICAL as first choice (or completed a change of institution through JAMB)
• Must hold an A'Level, ND, NCE, HND, or First Degree in a relevant discipline and subject area
• Must possess credit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language, in not more than two sittings
• Candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery or Dentistry must have O'Level results from one sitting only

Fees and Registration

• Application fee: ₦2,000 (non-refundable)
• Registration and payment are conducted entirely online through the official UNICAL admissions portal

UNICAL has warned that any candidate found to have supplied false information regarding academic qualifications or state of origin will face immediate disqualification. The university has also stated it will not be held responsible for failed applications resulting from incorrect personal details submitted by candidates.
