WAEC Opens Complaints Portal for Candidates with Withheld 2026 WASSCE Results
WAEC has opened its complaints portal for candidates whose 2026 WASSCE results were withheld. Affected candidates can submit their defence at waecinternational.org/complaints.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that candidates whose 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates results were withheld can now submit their complaints or defence through the Council's official complaints portal.
In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, WAEC stated:
"Is your result withheld? Visit waecinternational.org/complaints to register your complaint or lodge your defense."
How the Portal Works
On the complaints portal, candidates can enter their examination number to view the reason(s) for the notice, where available, and submit a representation or defence for the Council's consideration.
Candidates are advised to check the portal periodically, including around four weeks after the release of results, for updates on their case.
Important Notes
- A withheld result does not automatically mean it has been cancelled. WAEC's decisions, once reached, will be communicated to affected candidates through their respective schools.
- Investigations may take weeks or even several months, depending on the complexity of the case.
- Candidates whose cases are cleared will have their results released. However, if examination malpractice is confirmed, the Council may cancel specific subjects or the entire result.
Beware of Scammers
Candidates should beware of fraudsters, agents, or social media "helpers" claiming they can "upgrade," "release," or fast-track withheld results for a fee. WAEC has stressed that such claims are typically scams, and has provided the official complaints portal at waecinternational.org/complaints as the only legitimate channel for addressing withheld results.
Candidates are encouraged to rely only on verified WAEC channels — its official website, verified social media accounts, and physical offices — and to provide accurate information and any supporting documents that may assist the Council in reviewing their cases.
