The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has completed the marking of scripts for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), paving the way for the release of candidates' results in the coming weeks.

Reports circulating on social media claim the results will be released on Monday, August 3, 2026, but WAEC has not officially confirmed this date. The Council has maintained that updates on the release of results will be communicated only through its official website and verified social media platforms.

What WAEC Has Confirmed

• The examination body has assured candidates that results will be published within 45 days after the final examination paper, in line with its established policy for processing school candidates' results.
• The 2026 WASSCE for school candidates ran from April 21 to June 19, 2026. Counting 45 days from June 19 places the earliest expected release window in the first week of August 2026.
